Introduction to the Weekend

During the whole month of May, each weekend has a special promotion to make some part of the game more attractive to play. From the 13th of May to the 16th, Jagex decided to encourage RuneScape players to spend their days in Dungeons.

Seeing as many RuneScape players prefer killing monsters and solving puzzles to running around Gielinor, siphoning wisps or AFK crafting items. Keeping that in mind, players should certainly enjoy the theme of this weekend’s promotion.

The first bonus set up for this weekend increases base Dungeoneering XP from completing dungeons by 50%. That is very good, no matter the skill level you’re at. Increased XP for doing something you would do anyway. What could be better? Only MORE increased XP, we guess?

If you aren’t the best Dungeoneer in Gielinor, the second bonus should make it easier to level by not penalising deaths with XP loss. While that is nice, it possibly could make some people say “F-word it”, shout, “Leeeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins” at the top of his lungs, and wipe the whole party. While funny once, it could get annoying. Don’t be THAT guy. DISCLAIMER: We would never dare to say the F-word. Honest.

The third bonus should help you in case you had the goal of getting some Nemi forest and Trinks’ task reputation but never actually sucked it up and did it. Reputation gains in these areas are doubled this weekend. If that’s not enough to make you buckle down and grind dat rep, nothing is.

The final Weekend Bonus this week is great for those RuneScape players who enjoy raiding above all else, as they will be able to loot bosses every day instead of every other day. If you were to kill the bosses every day for 3 days normally, you would get to loot them two times, while during the weekend, you will get 3 loots. Who knows, you might get that item you always wanted but, for the life of you, couldn’t get.
