Skill time: RS invention

One of the parts of playing RuneScape is skilling: the ability of attaining various skills that later help you in the game. Today’s topic is RS Invention: what is it and why should you get it.

How can you get the skill?

Invention is ascribed to the Elite RuneScape skills, so no wonder you’re going to have to work for it more than for Mining. It is also one of the skills that has a higher max level than 99 (it’s 120). In order to start learning this skill, a player already has to have Divination, Smithing and Crafting skills that were upgraded to level 80.

If you have these requirements, you can go to the Invention Guild where you will have to speak to Doc. This will open up RS Invention tutorial which you will have to complete. During the tutorial you will get access to Inventor’s workbenches where you will either get some materials or try to assemble the items you already have.

Invention training has four parts, each of which you have to master:
• Materials and manufacturing,
• Discovery,
• Augmenting,
• Perks.

Each of the parts requires some additional skills that eventually add up to Invention. For example, to master Discovery you will need to learn Inspiration. You can always check RuneScape wiki to get a detailed training plan.

Benefits

As it is with other skills, learning Invention also unlocks various skills that you can learn. Also it allows you to:
• Modify your gear (for example enhance damage);
• Augment your ear;
• Add perks;
• Build gear sets.

You can achieve all of these benefits by disassembling and trying to assemble various parts back. This allows each player to try and find new items, weapons and enhance the gear they already have.

In RS, Invention skill is quite hard to attain. You have to start out with a lot of gold, keep killing enemies to earn more points, not to mention you have to keep track on all for parts of the training. But it sure is worth the struggle as you can get the ability to enhance your armor and weapons. So if you don’t have it yet, now is the best time to start training!
