Boss Pet Overrides, GWD2, NXT Updates
May 2016
Jagex has been listening to players wishes, resulting in the recent announcement concerning a couple of features, plus a welcome batch of NXT improvements. All of that will be covered below, read on to find out more.
The first feature to be discussed is the upcoming boss pet override function. While it is a purely cosmetic feature, it is cool nevertheless. In essence, once you kill a boss and earn its pet drop, you will be able to override your current familiar with the skin of the boss. New animations for actions that the familiar can perform will be included. While not game-changing by any means, it’s still a nifty little feature. Any update to the way the game looks normally is welcome in our book.
The second big news is the improvement of God Wars Dungeon 2. While it was enjoyable before, it should be even more so from now on with the quality of life improvements that were made. First of all, each boss will now have kill timers added. You will be able to renew instance time by using the kill count interface, which is certainly convenient. You will also be able to look at drop tables for the monsters inside the dungeon. Bosses’ clickzones will be improved.
If that weren’t enough, your faction insignia will have an option to prevent friendly fire to the NPCs of the faction that matches yours. While there, you will also be able to toggle the function that gives you the ability to collect ingression fragments automatically. Using the kill count interface, you will be able to check which bounty has been assigned to you by Feng the Bounty Master, it will show a tooltip for your current reputation points, and you will be able to make it smaller. Finally, if you have The Aftershock Invention perk, you will be able to proc it more frequently.
